Iron Panel

A group of proteins and minerals that reflects how your body stores, transports, and uses iron for energy, oxygen delivery, and cellular health.

About

The Iron Panel is a set of blood tests that gives a detailed picture of your body’s iron status—how much iron you have, how well it’s being transported, and whether it’s being stored properly. Iron is an essential mineral your body uses to make hemoglobin, the protein in red blood cells that carries oxygen. It’s also involved in energy production, immune function, and cellular repair. But like many things in biology, balance is key: too little iron can impair oxygen delivery, while too much can damage organs over time.

4 Biomarkers Included

Ferritin
A protein that stores iron in the body and helps assess iron levels, with abnormal values linked to deficiency, overload, or inflammation.
Total Iron
A mineral that powers oxygen transport, brain function, and energy, with deficiency and overload both linked to serious health risks.
Transferrin Saturation
The percentage of transferrin, a blood protein that binds and transports iron, that is actually carrying iron. Elevated levels are a sign of too much iron in the blood or iron overload. Too low levels serve as a sensitive screening test for iron deficiency anemia.
Total Iron Binding Capacity
A measure of your body's ability to hold and transport iron.
