Norovirus GI/II Test Stool

A highly contagious virus responsible for rapid-onset gastroenteritis.

About Norovirus GI/II

Norovirus is one of the most common causes of acute gastrointestinal illness worldwide and spreads easily through food, water, and person-to-person contact. Infection often begins suddenly with vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal cramping, and fatigue. Although symptoms usually resolve within a few days, dehydration can become significant, particularly in older adults. Immunity after infection is short-lived, allowing repeat infections over time. Detection reflects current or very recent viral shedding in the gut.
